Whois domain search allows you to track the ownership and expiration of a domain name. Just like registering all homes with a governing authority, all domain name registries maintain a record of information about every domain name purchased through them, who owns it, and the date of purchase.
The Whois database contains information such as the registration date, expiration date, ownership and contact information of the domain name, the domain’s nameserver information, the registrar where the domain was purchased, and more.
An IP is the unique address of a server on the internet. Just as a phone number allows you to connect to a specific phone on a telecommunication network, an IP address allows your computer to connect to a specific server on the internet.
Domain names and IP numbers are the framework upon which the entire world wide web is built.
IP numbers are assigned to network organizations with records maintained by governing authorities for each IP number and the organization it is assigned to. Whois IP search allows you to track the aforementioned information for a domain.
Enter the domain or IP address you want to perform a Whois search for in the search box above. We will query the relevant database and provide the latest record.
Based on rules established by ICANN, Registrars are expected to maintain the accuracy of the domain name owner’s contact information in the Whois database. Most Registrars use the information provided by the buyer when the domain is registered.
If your information does not match the Whois results, you can change this information by contacting your Registrar, who can help you update your information. Once this information is updated, the Whois record will be updated accordingly. It takes an average of 24 to 24 hours for this change to be reflected in the Whois database.
If you have purchased a domain, the information stored with your Domain registrar is what is passed on to the Registry for the Whois database. Get in touch with your Registrar to make changes to the Whois contact information for each of your domains.
Some Registrars offer privacy protection services to their customers, allowing them to hide their actual contact information in Whois search results to prevent it from falling into the hands of spammers and scammers. Contact your Registrar to learn more about your options.
If the domain name owner has used the Registrar’s privacy protection services, some information may be hidden in Whois search results. Additionally, some Registries proactively hide certain information to comply with local data privacy laws.
You can use the Whois search service to find the registration status of a domain name. If the domain is not registered and is available, you can use Whois.com to register the domain name.
Alternatively, if the domain name is already registered, you can register similar available domain names that we offer, or use the provided contact information to get in touch with the owner and respectfully negotiate a sale. Please note that using the information provided through the Whois search service to send unsolicited contact is prohibited.
You can check the availability of a domain name by searching for it in the Whois database. This will tell you the status of whether the domain name you are searching for is available or not. Doing this for multiple domain names over time can help you build a list of available domain names.
